Independent Energy Testing for Drinks Vending Machines
Don’t just take our word for it…
Mars Drinks have been working with an independent energy testing company, with the aim to test our machines to the European Vending Associations test protocol for the measurement of energy consumption in vending and dispensing machines.
Energy efficiency test results - the facts
We have tested both our FLAVIA Creation 400™ and KLIX OUTLOOK™ machines against the leading market competitors. The FLAVIA results are now in, and have so far revealed three exciting facts…
- The FLAVIA Creation 400™ is more energy efficient than the leading single serve competitor. In fact, tests revealed the leading competitor in single serve uses 26% more energy
- The FLAVIA Creation 400™ is 17% more energy efficient than the average result for the leading bean to cup machines tested
- In 'Standby' mode, the FLAVIA Creation 400™ outperforms all of the leading table-top freshbrew office coffee machines tested
European Vending Association Energy Measurement Protocol
Testing for comparative energy efficiency is carried out according to the European Vending Association test protocol. This tests energy usage in the heat up of the machine, when the machine stands idle and when it vends a drink.
- These three tests form the basis for determining The Energy Consumption Per Litre (ECPL), which is the preferred measure of comparison for machines according to the European Vending Association.
- ECPL is calculated by taking the ‘energy consumed’ results during the vending phase and then dividing by the volume of water dispensed by the machine.
- ECPL is a measurement that allows comparison between different types of machine.
Find out why the FLAVIA Creation 400™ and KLIX OUTLOOK™ perform so well in energy efficiency tests in the articles below. We are compiling the results for KLIX, and will continue to update this page. Please visit us again to see how Mars Drinks can help you to reduce energy use.
