Our KLIX machines are made of a range of different materials ranging from plastics to aluminium and they even contain precious metals including copper and gold! As part of our obligation under the WEEE (Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment) Directive we offer a collection scheme to help our customers dispose of thier old KLIX machines responsibly. When machines arrive back at our machine factory we have a special valet system to ensure we re-use machine parts to extend their lifecycle. When machine parts cannot be re-used they are sent to our recycling team who strip the machines and send each type of material to be recycled.
Once the materials reach our waste partner they are re-processed and recycled for use in a wide range of ways displacing the need to use new resources. Currently 95% of a KLIX machine is recycled and we are working with our recycling partner to find recycling solutions for the remaining 5%.
